Abraham is the name of an ancient textile company of Zurich in Switzerland. Many of their silks and fabrics were used by the famous designers couture houses: Balenciaga, Dior, Givenchy, Cardin… There was a very nice exhibition called “Soie pirate” in Zurich this year, where some of the original fabrics were exposed, together with photos (and some real garments) of the garments that were made with those fabrics. At this exhibition, you could also buy some “reprints” of the “old” fabric patterns on silk, and I couldn’t resist this flower pattern silk, and finally made this dress.
I am still not too sure about when I will find enough courage to wear an eye-catching patterned dress like this, which is normally not my usual style. But I like this dress anyway.
Take off with pleats, cut-outs, insets, and futuristic prints.
