When it comes to sewing and buying clothes I’m at my prime in the spring and summertime. Every autumn it turns out I have very little to wear – especially dresses. As soon as I received this heavy polyester I knew it was perfect autumn dress material. The color and pattern of the fabric made me think of the 70s, so a loose dress with loose sleeves gathered at the wrist seemed a perfect idea. To top it off, I found the perfect pattern in the 11/2013 Burda – the designer pattern. It was meant for a blouse, but it was no problem to simply lengthen the pattern. I also added in-seam pockets. What makes the pattern unusual is the sleeve detail. Unfortunately, I think it’s all lost due to the pattern of the fabric; were it plain, it would be more visible. I love it all the same, though.
