This is made from Butterick 4919, from their Retro line. I’ts a rather comfortable dress, easy to wear and forgiving. The bodice is a little large for my very narrow back, but it isn’t very noticeable. I love the skirt, it’s extremely swingy.
The pictures are pretty not-awesome, but in real life the dress is very pretty and very Marilyn.
I made it out of a Wal-Mart sheet, as I usually do.
The pattern was a pain in the neck, though – the bodice was so confusing. In the end I went with my instincts and it came out all right.

Oh my! I have seen other dresses made with this pattern and they don’t look nearly as beautiful as yours. Well done. :)
