Description

Remember my linen dress from 1935? You can find it here in my BurdaStyle studio.I always wanted to make the coat that goes with it – well, I admit, I changed it around a bit. It was meant to be a summer coat, and I turned it into a winter version. The whys and wherefores you can read about on my blog Of Dreams and Seams

Material Notes

Furniture fabric... lining... lots of fine black cord... a loooong zipper.

      Uhm… everyone seems to think that. I almost feel like a cheater now, but I stitched it on with the machine, and it worked really well…

      Thank you! It really was surprisingly fast! I found this great tutorial for the lining (it’s listed on my blog), and I actually stitched the cording with the machine…

      Oh no, don’t say that, please… I just got it off my want-to-do list, finally…! But guess what, I actually AM making a summer coat now, also with a pattern from 1935, also with a dress to come with it…
