This dress is the first time I used my Christmas overlocker, the first time I spent a disgusting amount on fabric*, the first time I bought fabric from John Lewis, the first time I’ve worked with a nice jersey and the first dress that I wore to my first real sewing lesson today!
I used the Cynthia Rowley pattern, Simplicity 2472.

Jersey knit that I paid entirely too much for... it's cool though because of the houndstooth pattern :)

Well done! It’s a cutie. Overlocking is great… I’m so glad I invested in one. And wasn’t it great wearing something you made to your first sewing class?

Aye it was brilliant!! I really miss my overlocker since I had to leave it in the UK :( so I’ve been hoarding little projects that I’ll blast out in the Summer :)

Lots of firsts and a result that is a lot lovely – said a lot ungrammatically. Nice fabric, too. Is it a houndstooth pattern? Or little triangles? and: overlocker? sewing lessons? jealous! But I got a dress form for my birthday : )
