On end of September I’m invited at a wedding of a friend and I’m working at my dress!
This is a test version I realized with an old bed sheet. I realized the pattern by myself following a book that teaches how to draw patterns.
After completing it I realized I don’t like the skirt… it’s very different from the idea I had! Maybe I missed some pences, but there weren’t pences in the book description!
I’m going to modify the skirt part of the dress and also tune a bit the size of the bodice. The skirt will become shorter and with three gore flounces. Hope it will look nice…

“Funky, unusual and elegant” exactly what I wanted it to be!!! I hope the final version will be this way too!

i like this a lot! maybe the skirt would look better if it was raised a few inches, i really like the skirt but i’m also a fan of high waisted dresses and skirts, so that might be an option if you like high waisted things!

Good idea the high waisted option! This time I think I will make a low waist version, but that could be an option for a future dress! :)

Actually what I like most in this dress is the skirt! But oh well, I suppose we all have different tastes :) gore flounces are nice too! Good luck!

Thank you!
For sure we all have different tastes! :)
To be honest the skirt is cute, but the problem is that it is different from what I expected… there was a sketch of this skirt on the book, and I like most the book version!!!

Really! Maybe I can make one with a simple cotton fabric (the wedding one will be shantung 100% silk) as summer dress!
Once I will tune the pattern it would be faster and easy to sew another dress like this! :)
