Click to Vote -Tessuti Awards 2012
Hello all! So the last week I’ve been spending most of my time creating my entry for the 2012 Tessuti awards, Spots & Stripes! You needed to use fabric from their store, and use a combination of sports and stripes, or just one pattern. Not all my photos are uploaded yet, the lovely photographer is still going on the editing!
Your support would be appreciated __ I had so much fun making this!!
Pattern Used:
Time To Create:
14 Hours
Dress Influenced By:
Tomoko Nakamichi with his “Pattern Magic” books, and Shingo Sato and his “Transformational Reconstruction” book/videos were a huge influence in the design, as well as a mix of vintage inspired features/techniques, and of course the silhouette.
I always like to make something that’s easy to wear and fun, so naturally this comes through with a mixture of my other influences.
I feel the contrast between the fabrics, and the flared peplum style of the skirt, as well as the bold panneling, are all features that are very prominent in fashion at the moment.
Additional Information:
A big thank you to a Canberra photographer Ben Davies who I trekked up some mountains to have a very fun shoot with!
Thank you to my lovely friend who bought me my matching bow, and my other friend who lent me her shoes!

Gorgeous dress – I love how much you’ve played around with the spots and stripes theme and taken it in a unique direction. And that second photo is like something out of a designer catalogue, just perfect.
