This was my entry for the Tessuti Awards in 2012. It is base Burda pattern “Layered Lace Dress 06/2012 #116b”. The theme last year was ‘Spots & Stripes". I love stripes! My brief for myself was to base the garment on a men’s shirt (i thought this fab looked shirty). I incorporated a few elements, such as front placket, half a yoke etc in the dress. I added a little tie from one of the Pattern Magic books to add some fun to it. I think I wanted to create a fun thing with elements from classical, finely finished men’s garments ( i am a fan of more androgynous styles) for a twist. I still have lots of this fabric left over…what should I do with it???
