Description

I bought this gorgeous medallion fabric — just a meter! — in Cordoba, Argentina during my semester abroad. It turned out to be 100% rayon, which I learned only after putting my finished dress in the dryer and having it shrink a half size. Thankfully, it wasn’t too dramatic a change that it was unwearable. It’s now hand wash and air dry only!

This was my first attempt at New Look 6489 (listed as DO558 on my envelope..?), which has become my new favorite pattern. It comes together very fast, though some of the instructions were a little confusing, so I improvised. I shortened the skirt to about 18 inches and left off extra layering, leaving the most basic shape. Instead of snaps, I added strips of fabric to tie it in the back for more flexibility.
