I eliminated the side zipper and added elastic at the waist. I also added a light interfacing to the collar to give it more volume.
I still want to add a couple stitches to tack down the pocket flaps but Im so happy with my end result!
I used a knit i got from a local thrift store for $2! I ended up preferring what is actually the wrong side of the fabric so its technically inside out...

I don’t know if it is the color but your dress looks more fabulous then the original. I like the total package: the color, the shoes and hairstyle! Well done!

Ha! I just cut this pattern out and wanted to add interfacing to make the collar more fun… could just write a bit about how you pulled that off. thanks

I used one of the lightest weight fusible interfacings i could find. I picked one that was black just so it would match a bit better. I cut the fusible the same as the two collar pieces and ironed them to the wrong sides… just follow the pattern instructions for the dress which includes hemming up the collar so the fusible wont be visible but you could also try lining the collar piece before attaching it to the dress. Hope this helps!

Super sexy, is it easy to get on without a zipper? I like how you’ve used the wrong side of the fabric, I always do this!!

I added a 3/4" elastic band at the waist which along with the fact its a stretch fabric makes it easy to get on and off…thanks

Wow, this looks really great! I also hadn’t given this pattern too much thought before, but your version really makes me want to sew it.

Oh my! This dress is breathtaking! I am not sure what is the exact color of it – on a hanger photo it looks navy, while on you it has greenish, petroleum shade (which I really, really like). Awesome!
You really made me reconsider buying the pattern.
