I made this Heidi dress for one of my classes last semester at school. We had to use a pattern exactly how it came without any alterations. :( If I had been able to I would have liked to make the sleeves into more tank top ish and I wouldn’t have had such large pleats in the skirt at least. I feel like it makes me look like I have a huge stomach. I absolutely LOVE the belt! It is probably my favorite part of the whole outfit!
My fiance took the pictures for me.

Love the belt. It’s why I want to make this dress. Fantastic.

Hello Miss Strawberry! I like your dress especially since I’ve been working on my Heidi for 3 weeks now (weekends only) and had to call in my mother’s expert hands: the silly pleats in the front are such a nuisance! My heidi will be white with a large plain balck belt, hopefully I will be done soon and will be able to put photos up. I was counting on making the white heidi as a trial run, then make another Heidi in shantung, but I think I will lose the pockets and the front darts, keeping onlhy the princess seams: it will be more flattering. You look great in teal, by the way! Great work.

Awesome job! And it doesn’t make your stomach look huge at all! It’s really a lovely fit for you! And the color is so complementing!

Beautiful! I love teal. Also, your belt looks different than the one on the pattern (I went and checked the pattern out because I like your version so much!) Did you weave the strips differently?

I didn’t want the belt to look uniform so what I did after I made the base for the belt and the strips was tack the strips on one end of the belt. I then weaved and tack as I intertwined the strips until I got to the other side. Really simple!
