I used a canvas material for both the inside and the outside. Plus I didn’t make them too large. They hold about 2-2.5 kilos of potatoes (which happens to be the exact size bag my local store sells them in). I tried some taller and longer ones, but they didn’t stand on their own.

I also didn’t trim the seams and left the allowance as it was- this added some extra strength to the side seams.

I didn’t want to use interfacing because I wanted to be able to “squoosh” it down when I needed to. A quick steam iron along the seam lines brings ti right back into shape.

    Hi,

your tater bags are great. I will try some too, but how are they that frim? I fear, when I sew them, they will be very smooth and don`t stand like yours.
