Description
I made this Jacket using a pattern from the September 2004 Burdastyle Magazine . I was really drawn to the panel shapes – it’s one of those unusual patterns thats worth taking the time to trace.
I used a Black wool fabric that had a silver thread going through it, and the tartan fabric has some stretch to it.
I’ve added a few more details & pics on my blog

Hi there, I am attempting to make this jacket, I am already stuck with stitching the back panel seam. Is there anywhere on the site that shows how to do this? I may have to change my name to cranky Carmen if I. Can’t figure this out. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Carmen – I don’t know of any instructions on site. The corners can be quite tricky and I don’t have any in-progress photos unfortunately. One way that might make it easier, could be to turn and baste back the seam allowance on the center panel and then lay it on top of the other back pieces and topstitch it down. Hope this helps :)

Thanks:) I was keen to use the black wool, but didn’t have enough for a full jacket, so it was the perfect pattern to use two fabrics for.
