This is the project that came just a little too late! I started making these shorts during what turned out to be the last days of summer in upstate NY, and it’s been so cold lately that I was afraid I would have to pack these away without even wearing them! It’s warmed up a little bit here today, and even though it’s probably not shorts weather I’m wearing these out anyway.
The shorts were pretty easy to make, and because I wasn’t in a big rush to wear them out I did nice seam finishings and everything on the inside, which I’m normally too impatient to do. I’ll upload pictures of the inside later… my boyfriend clearly doesn’t appreciate the beauty of bound seams, but I’m sure some of you BurdaStylers might!
Probably a poly blend, but I'm not really sure... it's been sitting in my stash for at least five years.

Luckily sewing is not a competition – I think the Ruby is such a great pattern that it is timeless. You’ll be able to wear it next summer! I admire bound seams!
