I wanted to go as a TARDIS for halloween, but wasn’t sure that I wanted to just paint a box and walk around in it all night. The solution? Make a TARDIS-inspired dress.
I used Simplicity pattern 3833 for the dress, and blue and white twills as fabric. It’s hard to see, but I added top-stitching to the front in white to suggest the existence of doors. The window panes were created by using interfacing to stick pre-measured finished strips of blue twill to the dress, then sewing them on. The black section at the top is all paint. The words, the black, all paint.
On another note, Simplicity 3833 is a lovely dress. I’d definitely make it again of a lighter fabric and wear it any day.
Plan a weekend getaway in these sweater dresses and furry accessories.
