Tan Corset... from head to toe...

Added Dec 31, 2010

by marloncosta

Boston, Massachu...

I made this corset and pants couple of months ago as part of my collection for The Boston Fashion Week. It`s a four layers corset with a bra cup (fashion fabric, horsehair interfacing, cotton twill and lining). I wanted it to be firm and really structured. Instead of lacing a put a exposed zipper on the back on the same color on the fabric. I made bias tape from the same material to finish the bottom edges of the corset with the hong kong biding seam finish. I added the neck piece embroidered with sequins last by hand stitching it to the corset making it a halter. The skinny pants have a zipper on the side and were made on the same material as the corset. I draped the pattern for the corset on the dress form, then I had to fit it to the statuesque model on the picture. Isn`t she beautiful?

Material Notes

horsehair interfacing, cotton twill, satin lining, bra padding, boning, fashion fabric (can`t remember what it is)…

the corset is flawless! I do have to say that the pants look like they could use a bit of adjustment in the crotch area but I don’t know if you sewed the pants as well!

Thank you! I kind of wanted that effect. My inspiration was the nude female body.

First off, you are not “intermediate”, you are “ADVANCED”, in all caps.

The contour and fitting is exceptional, the curved hem, brilliant. It’s a smart, versatile piece with years of mileage in it.

Your website is impressive in layout, and of course, content. Keep going!

Wow! Thanks! I really appreciate everything you said. That was very nice of you. I still have soooooooo much to learn I wouldn`t dare to call myself advanced. Thanks again and God bless you!

Thank you dude! I added that piece last minute. I knew it needed something so I brought that piece along with me to the venue and hand stitched it to the corset and added a hook/eye set.

Love it! Love the colours and love the shaping. Boston Fashion week – how scary and exciting! Isn’t corse making addictive?? I just wish I didn’t have to sleep or then I would have more time to sew! I have tried to rate your project as a 4 but something went wrong!
