Tailed jacket for sunday walking

Added Oct 28, 2011

by Dibii

Riga, Latvia

I redesign the Burda 08/2010 leather jacket’s pattern, maintaining the pockets and lines of the side seam relief.

At least I have my own tailed jacket which I dreamed about! I am very pleased with the result.

What a beautiful jacket! So vintage-looking, but depending on the styling it could be very modern too. I love your photos, too!

Beautiful! Similar to one I’ve been envisioning for myself. I’m early in my “pattern modification” quest, but every time I see someone do it, I get a little closer to having the courage to go ahead and cut (the muslin, that is!)

    Very, very nice work.

Thanks all for your lovely comments! I really don’t expect such courage in me to redesign the pattern completely different, but now I can suggest you all if you like something in existing pattern, but would like to add your own character to the garment don’t be afraid to change it!

Your coat is really lovely. You’ve done a wonderful job taking an existing pattern and making it fit your vision.

This is beautiful. I hate tailoring, so I am always impressed by the skills of others in this arena. It is a great interpretation of the pattern, and the entire look is vintage, but modern too.
