Taffy blouse and lined skirt

Added May 28, 2012

by servareginae

Stillwater, Okla...

I added a satin lining and invisible zipper to the skirt (New Look 6053) to make it more challenging. This was my first attempt at an invisible zipper. I am so pleased with the neat, discreet finish that I can’t imagine that I would ever go back to a centered zipper.
The Taffy blouse ( Colette) is satin, crepe side out. I started with a size 4, and then adjusted my muslin down to a size 0. But then it was too tight in the waist. I added two inches to the pattern at the waist line. I love the curvy, drapey design of this blouse.

Material Notes

satin crepe for the blouse and skirt lining; cotton for the skirt shell.
