made this for my husband last christmas out of his old favorite tshirts from high school that I wanted to throw out. He loves it, I have closet space now : ) Its about 4×5 ft (each square is about a foot)
grey thermal fabric for binding and backing, white thread, sewing machine, old t-shirts, low loft batting.

this is brilliant – my friend is giving me a tonne of old concert tshirts that he doesn’t wear anymore and i feel bad taking them from him (they have huge sentimental value) so i’ve been trying to think of something to make him with them…. this defo works:)

ok so I made a “how to” I hope it helps! : ) Its not that hard. I used expertvillage.com to help me with the binding; I left a link in the comments.

What a great idea! I am a bit of a t-shirt hoard too. I must learn to quilt some day. Is it hard?

Wow,that is so cool! A how-to would be great. My partner has around 70 t-shirts, which are all currently in their death throes and there’s far too much sentimental attachment to use them as rags.

Ooh, could you do a how-to on this? I’ve got a lot of old t-shirts that I’ve been meaning to give new life to!
