I saw a Slovenian dancer wearing a similar red top in an interview. I liked it so much I decided to make one for myself. I chose stretchy cotton because it’s so comfortable to wear. I didn’t use a pattern, instead I cut out two squares, one for the lower ‘tube’ part and one for the upper part. I made a few darts on the lower part, cut out the opening for the neckline on the upper and joined the two parts. Finally, I added the strings in the sleeves, I can wear the sleeves loosely or I can tighten the strings and get ‘baloon’ sleeves.
I’m thinking of making an obi belt to go with the top.
