This is a dress I made for my vacation in Italy. As every self-respecting, craze-driven seamstress, I was sewing ( in the end by hand) until our departure, and still didn’t manage to embroider the dress except for one flower, so I thought I might take it with me and finish it there. Because from our past experiences I knew we’ll be having “rest time” in between visiting museums, cathedrals and historical sites, and since I am a “no-nap girl” I finished the embroidery, which was supposed to be the highlight of the dress.
I finished it while in Syracuse. It seduced me mostly with its floral scenery. Hence the name.

I don’t know how I missed this one and thank goodness I was looking through my friends’ projects due the BurdaStyle bug, because this is gorgeous!!!! The embroidery is so lovely and I love the colours your chose for both the flowers and the dress itself! Beautiful neckline too!!!

Fenomenalna haljina! Vez je odlican – daje stvarima blagi etno ton, u kontrastu sa ostatkom dizajna. Svaka cast! Nadam se da si se lepo provela u Italiji.

This turned out just gorgeous! The embroidery looks fantastic! I too have just been doing the “no-nap” (although it should really be called “no sleep” in my case this week!) to finish the hand sewing of a lovely dress. :)

I absolutely adore this dress!!! Firstly because I am really attracted to the three colour combination you have got going on – the contrast of the textures (velvet ribbon etc), secondly the wonderful embroidery – it is so beautiful – you are incredible and thirdly because you look so darn beautiful in it and it fits & suits you so well! I think it looks like incredibly like an authentic vintage piece – that someone made many, many years ago by hand with lots of care, that has been well cared for and lovingly handed down though the generations. Sounds like you had a fab trip!
