I wanted a belt, I wanted a corset, I wanted something to go with ren-fest garb, I wanted something that would shrink my waist in summer dresses….I wanted a lot of things and this is what I ended up with.
My inspiration came from this site:
She calls the style a Swiss Waist, and is laced in the front and the back. I made my pattern too big, so I just stitched the back pieces together.
I am pleased with the way it turned out, but will be putting more boning in the next one. It’s comfy and fits just right. Can be worn as a belt, but good for an under-bust as well.
I’ll be making one for my Sis soon, and I might add instructions and blog it if anyone is interested.
unbleached cotton for the lining, mystery cloth for the outside (looks like micro suede) Plastic boning, grommets, a boot lace.
