I wanted to make a simple top that I could wear on super hot days or just throw over my bathers to go to the beach. I decided to use Sorbetto from Colette Patterns as a basis for the top. I couldn’t get over how quick & easy this pattern was to make. at 1pm I printed out the pattern, by 3:30pm I had a finished top! I changed the pattern slightly so that the top did up with a few bows at the back. For more info on the alterations I made check the post out my blog, Orchids In May
I’m really happy with this top, it is extremely comfortable. It’s nice & loose, so in hot weather it’s light & breezy & doesn’t stick to you. You may wonder how I get the bows done up with the top on… Well, I don’t have to! There’s enough ease in the top so that you can just pull it on & off. The closures at the back are just decorative.

Yes, very clever alterations. I am wearing one of my sorbettos as I type this. It is so hot in Brisbane tonight and my linen sorbetto is the coolest thing to wear. I am sure you will love wearing yours as it looks so good and cool on you.
