A very sweet dress for summer. I was inspired by Neopolitan ice cream without being too literal. I used the contour bust dress pattern. The pattern was right on with my size. This was a trial dress to see if I’d like it. I didn’t cut enough fabric for the bottom part of the dress (well I did but it made me look pregnant when i would sit down) so for the fix I added 3 godets with bows ( one bigger on back and 2 smaller in the front) to make it fit right. I made double spaghetti straps (once I bought the right tool it made my life easier). I top stitched the seams down in a contrasting thread. I used brown bias tape to go around the top to the dress. I think it turned out pretty well. I can’t wait to make another one!!!
How to coming soon on spaghetti straps…:)
Brown/pink batik fabric, Brown/pink gingham fabric, Off white cotton fabric, brown bias tape, inseam zipper, natural/brown thread, and ice cream….mmmm
