sorry the pictures are glary!
I made this skirt last night for my birthday (today!) because I have a singing/regional chorus audition today and i wanted to wear something nice :]
I bought this fabric from Japan last summer, and I knew i wanted to make a paper-bag-esque pleated skirt, but i’m not always as patient with sewing (hand-stitching a hem? too tedious!) as i should be, so i thought of a shortcut way to make this skirt. First I made a long tube of a rectangle of the outer fabric and a slightly thinner rectangle of a white cotton to line it. I turned that inside out and closed up the side seam leaving space for the zipper, inserted the zipper, then pleated the whole thing, just top-stiching each pleat an inch or so away from the top. With leftover fabric i made a tie for the waist. I love this skirt! [I plan to make a how-to in the near future because it was so easy and fun to make!]
