Took an oversized black ribbed crewneck sweater, removed the crewneck and widened the collar by ~1" on either side to create the neckline. Covered the collar’s raw edge with bias-cut silk ribbon, handsewing it down, then added 2 decorative buttons to finish it off. As with (Laura) Ashley, I used buttons to hold my tucked-under sleeves in place to shorten them, and took in the sweater at the sleeves and side to make it more fitted.
