Surprized-Me !

Montpellier, France

I was despairing to find nice and cheap fabric since I am in Galway – small irish city with only one poshy fabric store!
So my boyfriend proposed to pick a material in my favourite shop back in France, and bring it to me…. I DIDN’T EXPECT THAT!

I was so surprised and delighted with that fabric, as I am totally obsessed with polkadots, they are so cute!
This is how it came out.
I took different inspirations to design it : the general idea comes from the “Minnie dress” , and I adapted it according to my shape, using the afternoon tea top for a better fit. I didn’t have a zipper, so I decided to tie it, and I wanted to try the “petal” hem, because it’s cute…

And now I just have to wait for summer!

PS: Couldn’t integrate those in the “based on” box :
Minnie dress
Scalloped two-tones

PPS: I have to say that it’s thanks to this website that I really pay attention to details and I am so happy with the results! So… Thanks Burdastyle ;)

This dress is very pretty. I particularly like the tie idea, i always tend to put a project on hold when i haven’t got a zip and then it takes me a while to return to finish it. The scalloped edge really finishes it off!

This is so cute! I’m not usually a fan of polka dots but they look so nice here. The bust detail reminds me of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. :) And it fits you so well! Great job.

This is an extraordinary dress. So many features make it special. The choice of fabric (refelecting pretty great choice of a boyfriend) to the design which is ultra feminine, and really well done. Love it!
