Burda 08-2009-117 flouncy blouse, made as an effort to get out of sewing rut. It’s quick & easy, and it turns out great. I think.
The color (chartreuse) and fabric (Radiance silk-cotton blend) are very spring-y. So for the first time, I’m on schedule!

I love it! The color is beautiful, and you did a wonderful job with the pattern. I tried this pattern a few months ago, and was very happy with the result. So happy I think I’ll make another one very soon!

I like the look of this. I will have to go pull out this issue of Burda 8-2009 as I feel inspired to try this.

You can buy the Burda magazine, August 2009 edition, from ebay or etsy. Burdafashion.com sells individual patterns too, sometimes the styles are similar to the ones in the magazines.

I love the color, too! My SO accuses me of always wanting to make everything in green :) I’ve been thinking of making up this blouse from the April 2010 Burda that has a similar feel. How did you finish off the ruffle edges?

I didn’t finish the edges, actually, because I got confused with the directions. So I cut that part without the seam allowance and hoped for the best. (I saw a J. Crew top that had similar unfinished embelishments so I figured why not).

It’s super-nice, I love both the flounces and the colour. And that issue of Burda just happens to be the only one I’ve bought for ages, yey!

I called the office, from where I get Burda Magazine every month. They have magazines dating back a year. :-)
