my friend and I have an ongoing craft conundrum: is there a non-kitchy use for plastic canvas—that stiff plastic grid material found in craft stores that is normally reserved for kleenex box covers or kindergarten craft table? I think I might have found an answer in this uber-crafty and rather loud bracelet that I just spent almost an entire day working on. I cut large holes in the plastic canvas, stitched in big gaudy beads and psychotically wove florescent yarn through the canvas, until the yarn completely covered the plastic. Super easy, but very time consuming. I think I want to make a belt and maybe a crown in this same fashion. It makes me feel like a super-hero when I wear it!
