I have to call this garment my “ultimate skirt of learning”. While sewing this skirt I learned:
Scallops.
Darts. They are not a perfect pointy triangle like my sewing teacher taught me!
Blind hemming. By hand, because my machine doesn’t do a pretty job of it
Button plackets
Button holes
Sewing on a waistband
I made a few modifications from the original pattern and omitted the pockets, made wider scallops, and a wider waistband. This is a really fun project and I’m absolutely going to be sewing it again soon!
Blogged about here
Weird fabric I bought three years ago and cannot remember what it is. It's a kind of cream coloured fabric with an interesting weave and a definite metallic sheen.

Neat skirt – I like the wider scallops!
