This was the first year my kids TOLD me what THEY wanted to be for Halloween (tear) so I agreed, but I refused to go buy their costumes for $20 a piece. Using my son’s DSI MarioKart booklet, I eyeballed costumes for him (Mario), his sister (Luigi), and littlest sister (originally Princess Peach, but time was running out so we used last year’s Monkey costume from old navy and made her a Donkey Kong tie.) I was pretty happy with how they turned out!
I used felt, but if I were to do it again, I'd have used fleece. After 3 wearings (pre-school, daycare, & Halloween) the felt didn't hold up all that great and started pilling.
