Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This dress is Simplicity 1872’s Option C, and the fabric is Wheat (Slate) by Phillip Markel printed on cotton voile by Spoonflower.com. The cotton voile is very gauzy, which makes it a little tricky to sew, but I love it.
This pattern is super easy to sew (there are no closures, which is attractive to beginners). The thing about Simplicity 1872, it should be noted, is that the pieces are cut crosswise to the grain an important consideration if you hope to use printed fabric like I did. (The reason for this is the skirt has a lot of flare, and the pattern pieces would not fit on the fabric when cut with the straight grain.)
