This is the first big four pattern that I’m really happy with (I tend to stick with Knipmode, Patrones and La Mia Boutique pattern magazines because I find their pattern drafting and grading consistent for my size/ figure). I’ve sewn from Simplicity before and haven’t been too impressed with the fit (although its better than McCalls) but this pattern was a pleasant surprise. I had to go two sizes down from my actual measurements (what is it with American pattern companies and the insane ammounts of ease? Its not even wearing ease or style ease its just-spare room for you to put your guest bed in!) and its still a little loose but I’m pretty happy with it. This was meant to be a wearable muslin so I used a remnant from fabric I’d used for another project. The pattern on the fabric doesn’t let the design lines show very well but it is what it is.
I made the tights from an out of print Jalie pattern (also a wearable muslin)-they are so long that I can wear them as tights or tuck them into my shoes as leggings ;) I tried to be serious during the photo shoot but ended up laughing as usual.

I love the fabric! It must be Laura Gunn fabric. I have some of her fabric in my stash.. Looks very nice!

Thanks, yes its Laura Gunn, thick cotton with an amazing ammount of mechanical stretch (why this would be the case for quilting weight fabric is beyond me but it was fun to sew with).
