Description

To complete my little trio of beachy goodness, I made this sun hat. The lining is the same as my shorts, the denim is from the same bolt as my pencil skirt, and I used red cotton broadcloth for the bias tape and band. Coolest hat in the sand, and the older beach combers gave a little smile when they saw it :)

Material Notes

cotton, denim, medium & heavy interfacing, twill blend

This is super cute too – you were “kicking bottom” on the beach with this outfit Darl! KICKING! I love sun hats as I am really fair skinned and the Australian sun is so harsh. I will have to check out this pattern! I love the fact you used “leftovers” to make it. Very thrifty Sweets – this I like. x

You must make it! The instructions are wonky, but the hat provided so much shade. I’m pretty pasty as a rule, so didn’t want to overdo it too much in the sand.

Fabulous! I"ll have to make one myself, as summer’s on its way here in NZ!
