This is a sleeveless top based on the Retro Top pattern 07/2013 #130. Please visit my blog to see pictures: http://beyondaspiration.blogspot.com/2014/01/sumptuous.html
I used a nylon and acrylic brocade fashion fabric, which I backed with silk organza and lined with silk twill. I used the same pattern for the shell, backing, and lining. I added a zipper to the back instead of the placket and button that the pattern called for, using the stitchless zipper technique that I learned from Claire Schaeffer’s book “Couture Sewing Techniques.” I fell stitched the lining to the hem and instead of understitching by machine, I used Schaeffer’s pick-stitch technique described in a recent issue of “Threads” for the neck and armscyes.
Trousers, blazers, and blouses in cool neutrals have model-off-duty style.
