This dress was inspired by Skirt Lisa , but I made it without the pattern – just wanted to know if I could make such a thing!
It was a bit tricky to calculate all the circles I had to make for the ruffles, but finally it came out well.
The side zipper is from a bag I had that passed away ;) And I added a hook and eye inside to keep it from opening all the time.
The material is very light (and actually transparent, but with all the ruffles it’s fine!), and it dances around me when I walk, I love it!
zipper, staple, bias binding (7m!!)

What a great skirt, and without a pattern no less! I love scavenging things from past lives to make something new again. Great work! Love the pictures too.

I especially like the ruffles with the green trim! Did making circular ruffles take a lot of fabric? That’s what always scares me off them.
I think the word you want is a “hook and eye” for the top of the skirt zipper. Staples are usually for holding paper together ;). What’s the word in French?

Thank you! Yes it takes a lot of fabric, I used something like 2m or 2m50 for that skirt. But it wasn’t a problem for me because I bought a 3m coupon, it’s great when you like the fabric but you don’t have a particular idea of what to make with it… You always have enough fabric!
Thanks for the “hook and eye” ^^ in french it’s the same word for this and staples : agraphes.
