This is a dress I made for my sister. She really likes loose-fitting clothing, so it was easy to draft a simple pattern basing on a sloper for the perfect fit. The width of the patterned fabric was a bit too short for the entire length of the dress so I decided to enhance the dress with a contrasting satin top. The dress has also satin in-seam pockets and it’s finished off with the satin as well.
Although the fabric is quite thick it’s perfect for the summer heat. It’s weight gives the dress its clean shape and instead of sticking to the body as thin fabric would do, it lays loose letting in some fresh summer breeze.
