I have a formal coming up for my school graduation, so I wanted to make a dress for the occasion! This dress is based on the Bustier Dress #122B pattern. I changed the bottom of the dress to a more formal fuller skirt with a fishtail hemline (so trendy right now!) and layered it with a translucent floor-length skirt with the same pleats that are in the original skirt. I used a cotton/spandex blend for the bustier top and the skirt. I realized about halfway through the project that this wouldn’t hold the weight of the skirt without stretching weirdly, so I added boning along the seams of the bustier for more support.
