Based on the scarf dress design I made a creation that can be worn with shoulder straps, detachable sleeves – or with straps folded in as strapless. The straps fasten at the front with button and this is used ( along with 4 more buttons ) to attach the sleeves. Oh and it can be worn with one strap/sleeve. Had I more fabric I could have made a halter neckline utilizing the same buttons at the front.
I gave it this title as I have stored it away till next summer – and I am 60 next year.
I used leftover SARI fabric purchased in 1989 in Birmingham ( England ) described as being 100% Polyester Silky – it is crease resistant and folds up into a VERY small bundle – ideal for holiday wear and packing. I sewed it on my Jones 1969 sewing machine and used an over locker bought in 1986. So altogether it was an economical venture – but I did purchase new shirring elastic and buttons !
