I love madras, I love bright colours, and I love ruffles!
I was inspired by this dress
I really liked the front ruffle…
I drafted the pattern myself, well the skirt is just a gathered rectangle so that was pretty easy.
And I used my fantastic serger for the ruffles edge, it is so great!
Oh and the round pocket… I think it’s cute! I got that idea from an apron here on burdastyle, but I can’t remember what it was called.
I’m afraid this empire waist makes me look like a pregnant woman… I’m not really used to it. But I love the colour so much I’ll wear it anyway!
Invisible zipper, thread, fabric.

First, you do NOT look preggo! And second, the dress is absolutely fabulous :) well done, and I’m loving the pocket, I’ve been meaning to try that too.
