Summer blouse from Heather Ross’s “Weekend Sewing” This is my second of these blouses, and I used a seasonal tana cotton lawn fabric from Liberty of London.
I happen to be 6’ tall, and lengthened the body by 3 inches, but did not change the sleeve length (they are quite long in the original pattern). Also, I trimmed the neckline down probably 1.5 – 2", as the button and button loop press right up against my throat otherwise.
Ms. Ross’s patterns and instructions are clear and simple. I was able to cut and sew this blouse in one evening, after work. Satisfying!

Thanks for your comment! The Liberty prints are always a splurge, but I try to treat myself once or twice a year. This Philippa, with the bicycles all over in abstract connection to each other was irresistible. Light and cool. Nice, actually, for the whole air conditioning inside, sweltering heat outside!

The is a great print. I lvoe satisfying projects, and I expect that lawn is very comfortable to wear in this heat.
