Remscheid/ Rotte...

this suit is made after vogue pattern 2367, I think it is from the 1920’s. It was a big project for me because I had no one to help. First I had to shorten the trousers about 12 cm, the jacket was also to long en to wide. The interfacing is from haircloth/ horsehair stitched by hand. The buttonholes are handmade. the tie is also selfmade

Material Notes

wool, Satain, cotton

congrat to this well made suit. it’s so surprising to see a loos fit again, after all those tight fit’s and bodycontoured suits and trousers, we see at the moment. i quite like it but am more impressed by the details you have worked on so well!!!

      Hello Ralf,
you are right, this suit is very opposite to contemporary tight fit clothing and it shows the change in ideas of beauty and status in history. Much fabric means high social level. For this suit you need nearly 5 m of fabric, for a normal suit 3,5 m is enough. I like the trousers, it wears very nice, but the jacket isn’t my vavorit.
