This is my first make of the Sugar Plum dress from Lolita Patterns.
I used a wool knit for the skirt and a peach oriental style fabric for the bodice. I changed the sleeves by removing a lot of the excess ease at the sleeve head and at the back of the sleeve hem. I also changed the collar from a ruffle to a stand collar. I omitted the top button. I lined the skirt as well as the bodice and waistband as I need to be able to wear my clothes with tights.
I highly recommend this pattern. It provides a bit of a challenge to the more experienced sewer. The little button loops for example and the modesty shield behind it. Such cute details as well.
Go far afield in wrap dresses, detailed jackets, and comfy separates for fall.
