Here is my version of dress V from the Stylish Dress Book Vol 1. I love shirt dresses as they are so versatile and comfortable. So when I spotted a pattern for one in the Japanese pattern book I thought I would give it a try. I altered two parts of the dress. Firstly I raised the shoulder as I find that dropped shoulders broaden the look of my already broad shoulders (compared to my waist). Then I added gathers at the shoulder and created a cuff which also has gathers. I feel it gives the shirt dress more of a feminine feel to it. If I have any time (probably after christmas!) I would love to make another of the same in a light wool fabric for warmth and perhaps add a waist tie at the back so I can vary the look.
I’ve posted Instructions for the tunic and alterations on my blog here!:
