Here I finally attempted to make a tunic dress from the Stylish Dress Book which i’ve owned for quite a while! It was quite a simple make and it took about two days altogether. I found working out the Japanese instructions a little difficult at the beginning:)) but there are many online resources to help out and of course the illustrations in the book are very clear too.
I used a light spotted cotton lawn which has embroidered flowers and also added ties at the waist to give to a little more shape. I really love the simple design of this tunic!
I’m hoping to try the same tunic in a more wintery fabric, maybe a light wool and see what it’s like. I’ve also posted how-to instructions for making up the tunic here in case anyone wanted to try it out:

Beautiful job! I like how you made it more fitted with the ties. Very nice indeed!

Thanks for your comment Mia. I think that quite a lot of the patterns in the book are quite easy fitting so I thought adding ties would make the tunic a bit more versitile.
