I am not sure there is a piece of clothing in existence that I love more than this fun little ditty!
Shown here, the piece is made from one uncut length of fabric (except for the belt/sash, of course).
Should the artist choose, the piece can be shortened, lengthened, and even embellished in a million ways.
I prefer just a really awesome, interesting fabric to speak for itself … yet I would suggest incorporating a slit up atleast one side.
I think Janis Joplin would probably wear this As-Is, but….
If the artist is preppy, a soft seersucker would be SO fun.
If the artist is rocker chic, let’s opt for a metallic fabric with subtle print.
If the artist is bohemian, I’m all about going for a great midwest modern cotton print.
If the artist is a girlie girl, let’s add a fun over-sized bow to the neckline in full Gwen Sefani style.
In the word of Debbie from Napolean Dynamite, “There’s just so many options.”
Also, this dress looks great on ANY body type – the belted waist is very flattering because the rest of the dress is very free flowing … perfect for moving around on that stage.
I’m excited about this dress.
I hope you are too!
my mock up was created using true 70’s polyester. I do not recommend that for the stage, however – it’s just too hot!
