I just love it! So simple and cute =) (and cheap! I wish the fabrics I find half-priced were that pretty)

Thanks Sara! I find that kinda expensive. But nice only needing two meters.

Oh, I didn’t know how much fabric you had used. Indeed $6 per metre is not very cheap, it’s the average price in the fabric stores I know here in Lisbon… that was one expensive fabric before being on sale!
Anyway when I said cheap I was thinking of the finished dress, I don’t find many pretty dresses for $12 on stores, so it was still cheap =)

Yea Im sure I only bought two metres and paid 12. Im sorry I dont know where Lisbon is, where is it? Because like In England the money is different. Like our dollar is less than theres, and when we change our money over we get 2 x what wegave I think.
Yea, I guess. $12 is alright, but still if I had a paid job I would be better off buying the clothes in the shops because Im not a fast sewer and it takes me ages!!
Whats it like in Lisbon?

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, wich is in the south of Europe, right next to Spain. So we have euro’s here (€) wich is worth more or less the same as the US dollar. I don’t know if New Zeland dollar is worth the same as the us dollar, but I was comparing as if it were.
I’m not a fast sewer either, I’ve just started to learn this year, but I enjoy it, it’s an hobbie… and if I get cheap clothing out of it all the better =)

Oh yip I know where Portugal is. Im not sure where the US. dollar is at right now, but when we bought some, we got at it about 79c. So we got 79c to everyone of our dollar. But it has changed since then.
What have you made so far?
May 11, 2010, 04.11 PMby Sara Pereira
I’ve started by making small projects like a pencil case and stuff like that just to get familiar with my sewing machine (it was new and I had never machine-sewed before). Then I made a simple pleated skirt and after that I got so excited that I made a corset top with no pattern (and found out that, although it turned out nice it was too big a leap). That’s pretty much it so far, but you can check it all at my burdastyle profile =)
PS- I explained where Portugal was just in case, because we are such a small country that sometimes people never heard of it.

oh yip thats awesome! I did a big leap like you, well quite a few and it didnt pay off.
yea, that happens. I know of your country and where abouts on the globe it is.And I use to know exactly where it was but I have sortof forgotton now. I use to play this game called Globe trotter is and I learnt where all the countrys are, but then I stopped playing it and now I need to go back and refresh my memory. But if I had to guess where it is, it would be a good one.
anyway Im going to play the game now. =]
