Tonia in a beautiful vintage orange and striped fabric. Not 100% sure about the cut, I was not at all into the puffiness of the original pattern with the gathering front and back above the cuffs, so attempted to cut it slightly differently and did a small pleat down the front sides and changed the pockets into a more jean kinda style. I think these will probably grow on me and might look ok with a baggy shirt or sweater to balance out the over-all shape. I love the brightness of them though!
Vintage orange and red striped fabric from the lovely Cloth House, kept walking past the bolt in the window for days before finally giving in to it's super-saturated loveliness! It's a mystery vintage though, as the store assistants couldn't tell me much more than that. Feels like a thick yet soft denim.. Still have a metre or so of it left, maybe a pencil skirt?

These are really great! the orange stripes look so good with the grey. I’ve been wondering what to make the tonia’s out of, and you have just expanded my mind…

Great job!! I made a tonia shorts last summer, and I also cut them a bit differently to get rid of some puffiness:) maybe i should make another one, in a bold colour like yours!

Your shorts look really perfect! I am just working on my Tonia and also thought about changing the pockets, or maybe leaving them out – we’ll see.. Yours look better than the original ones, I think.

Love that fabric, it looks fantastic! Tried out the tonia pattern myself, with a grey/white tweedfabric, but I never really liked them, sad enough. Even though I like the “puffiness”, I think my shorts was a bit too puffy. Well, I hope you and your shorts will be friends, cause they are wonderful! ;D
