I love stripes! I got this material because I wanted to play around a bit with the stripes, but wasn’t sure how. I thought I’d make puffy sleeves, but when I saw a movie set in the 50’s I was inspired to make a 50’s style penguin-sleeve shirt with a boat-neck. The simplest there is! I think they accentuate the neck and shoulders in a very sophisticated, feminine way. I drafted the pattern from my basic jersey-bodice and took inspiration from a couple of jersey-shirts in my wardrobe (both from Whyred actually). When I’d stitched it it looked a bit empty, so I added cuffs. It came out kind of like I imagined, so I’m pleased!
