My first finished wearable item!
Really easy item. No pattern used, just based the neckline on a pre-existing tank to make sure it was even, then stitched up the shoulders and sides and finished the hem and edges with a black faux leather trim.
Definitely reccommend using trim for the edges of simple garments like this. Such an easy way to get a professional looking edge!
Any questions let me know!

What pattern did you use? I’m new to this whole thing and really want to make a simple tank! I’m wanting to do a sailor type outfit and this would be perfect!!! This looks so much better than the store made tanks by like a billon times!
(Sorry I like to use a lot of exclamation points!) :)

I like it. How did you do the trim? Did you use a serger or a regular sewing machine? I would like to make this type of garment but fear I wont be able to acheive a nice finish like yours.

I left the edges of the top raw and didn’t hem them at all. I bought a few metres of the trim from my local fabric store, then folded the sides of the trim over the raw edge and pinned it in place. Then I just used my regular sewing machine to stitch it as close to the edge where the trim meets the cotton as possible.
It was really easy, I’m sure you’ll do great!!
